Celebrity breakups of 2021: From Kanye and Kim to JLo and A-Rod

Not every love story has a happy ending. We look back on the celebrity couples who split up this past year. From Kanye West and Kim Kardashian ending their marriage to Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez ending their engagement, here are the stars who announced breakups and divorces in 2021.
Meagan GoodΒ and DeVon Franklin announced in a joint statement to USA TODAY on Dec. 21 that they are filing for divorce after nearly a decade of marriage. In their statement, they said that,Β despite the end of their marriage, their love for one another remains "eternal."
"After much prayer and consideration, we have decided to go into our futures separately but forever connected,"Β the couple said. "Thereβs no one at fault; we believe this is the next best chapter in the evolution of our love. We are incredibly grateful for the life-changing years weβve spent together as husband and wife."

Chrishell StauseΒ andΒ Jason OppenheimΒ are also moving their relationship toΒ Splitsville.
TheΒ "Selling Sunset"Β stars, who made their romance Instagram-official five months ago, are no longer datingΒ but "continue to have the utmost respect for one another," Oppenheim revealedΒ on hisΒ Instagram StoriesΒ on Dec. 21.
"We remain best friends and we will always love and support one another," he added.
Though Oppenheim described Stause as "the most amazing girlfriend I've ever had" and said their romance was "the happiest and most fulfilling relationship of my life," he noted they "have different wants regarding a family."

Following Common's remarks on their relationship, Haddish said she was "very disappointed" in what the rapper said.Β
During an interview with Lee, Haddish said Common "might be the type of person that never really settles with somebody, maybe he's like, you know, like bee going from flower to flower to flower."
"I don't know," she added. "I wish him nothing but joy and happiness,Β you know. He will always be cool."Β
In regards to her disappointment, the comedian expressed that what Common told Lee wasn't exactly what he told her when the two split up. She also added that she missed him "from time to time, but that's with, I think, any intimate relationship that you might have, you miss them. But I'm fine with it. It's cool."Β

"Vanderpump Rules" stars James Kennedy and Raquel Leviss have called it quits. "After these 5 wonderful years we had together, we decided we have two different goals and made the decision to call off the engagement," Kennedy, 29, and Leviss, 27, said in a joint statement on their respective Instagram accounts. "We love each other very much, but we arenβt in love anymore. We want nothing but the best for each other so please keep any thoughts positive. Sending Love."Β
Their split also marks the end of their engagement, seven months after Kennedy popped the question.Β

Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes, who collaboratedΒ on theΒ steamy 2019 duet "SenΜorita," announced their breakup after two years of dating in a Nov. 17 social media post.Β
"We've decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever," the singers each posted on their Instagram Stories. "We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward."

Craig Sjodin, ABCKaley Cuoco and Karl Cook announced they were splitting after three years of marrige on September 3 in a joint statement obtained by USA TODAY.Β "Despite a deep love and respect for one another, we have realized that our current paths have taken us in opposite directions," they said, adding, "There is no anger or animosity, quite the contrary."Β Β

Jim Belushi filed for divorce from his wife of 23 years, Jennifer Sloan, on August 6, according to legal documents obtained by USA TODAY.Β The former couple tied the knot in May of 1998 and share two adult children.Β Belushi was previously married to Sandy Davenport from 1980 to 1988, with whom he shares one child. He was also married to Marjorie Bransfield from 1990 to 1992.Β

Blair Underwood and Desiree DaCosta are divorcingΒ after 27 years of marriage. The couple announced their split in a joint statement shared May 31 on his official Instagram account and confirmed to USA TODAY by representative Lee Wallman.
"After a tremendous amount of thought, prayer & work on ourselves individually & collectively, we have come to the conclusion to end our marriage that began 27 years ago," the statement reads. βIt has truly been a beautiful journey."

Destiny's Child alum LeToya Luckett and Tommicus Walker announced Jan. 11 they had decided to get a divorce, nearly four months after welcoming their second child, Tysun.
"It is my deepest desire for us to be loving co-parents and keep a peaceful environment out of respect for our children," Luckett wrote in an Instagram post.Β
