Tommy DeCarlo, a singer who made the leap from fan to touring lead vocalist for the rock band Boston, died March 9, 2026, after a years-long battle with brain cancer. He was 60.

DeCarlo, who was working as a credit manager at a local Home Depot in Charlotte, North Carolina when he was discovered by the band Boston, took the summer off work to tour with the group as its lead singer following the death of Brad Delp.
