Every 'Bachelor' couple – Who's together, broken up over 20 years

May 14, 2024Updated Oct. 22, 2026, 8:42 p.m. ET
After more than 20 years and nearly 60 seasons of "Bachelor," "Bachelorette," "Bachelor in Paradise" and "Golden Bachelor," it might be difficult for some Bachelor Nation fans to keep track of where every couple is now. Here's who ended up staying together and who called it quits. "Golden Bachelor" Season 2: The franchise's second "Golden Bachelor" lead, former NFL linebacker Mel Owens, had a bit of an unconventional end to a season that had a controversial start due to podcast remarks that were widely seen as ageist . Though he ended his stint as the lead with the presentation of a ring for retired firefighter and bomb tech Peg Munson, it turned out to not be an engagement ring. "I have a ring, and this represents a commitment to love. To give us time together to figure out what our future holds," Owens told Munson in the November 2025 finale . Munson announced in an Oct. 21, 2026, Instagram post that she'd made the "difficult decision" to walk away from the relationship.

"The Bachelor" Season 29: Self-described "lone wolf" Grant Ellis found his pack when he proposed to 28-year-old client service associate Juliana Pasquarosa in the March 24, 2025, finale for his season. By the "After the Final Rose," the two had had a couple months down as an engaged couple, and they announced their plans to move to Boston together (Pasquarosa is from Newton, Massachusetts). But the move did not come to fruition, and on June 13, 2025, Ellis and Pasquarosa came out with respective statements announcing their breakup. "We both gave this our best and poured a lot of love into each other, but after a lot of deep conversations, we've come to the understanding that we're simply not the right fit long term," Ellis wrote in an Instagram story. "There's no negativity here. No resentment. Just two people who care about each other and want the best for one another moving forward." In her post, Pasquarosa maintained they have "mutual respect, care, and hope for what's ahead."

Give us a peace about this decision to end our relationship that transcends worldly understanding," he captioned a photo of the two meeting in the show's premiere. "Shower our friends and family with kindness and love to comfort us. And remind us that our Joy comes from you, Lord." If you recall, James — the first Black "Bachelor" lead — and Kirkconnell hit rocky waters during "After the Final Rose," which aired after the two vowed to pursue a relationship rather than end the season with an engagement. James said he had to take a step back after images of Kirkconnell attending a plantation-themed fraternity formal in 2018 started circulating. "The Bachelor" Season 12: The “Bachelor” franchise didn’t choose just anyone to debut as their first and only British lead in March 2008: Matt Grant was a 6-foot-5 financier with a bachelor’s degree in modern history and politics. And he was the captain of his university’s rowing team, to boot. He and his fiancée, 22-year-old actress Shayne Lamas (daughter of actor Lorenzo Lamas), didn’t make it past the first few months after the finale. Fun fact, the season was technically billed as “The Bachelor: London Calling.”

They were seemingly on-again, off-again until 2010, when they ended things for good.

"The Bachelor" Season 4: Bob Guiney survived the inaugural season of “The Bachelorette” spinoff show and hopped in the saddle as the fourth-ever “Bachelor” lead in 2003. The 32-year-old mortgage company founder didn’t venture far, choosing to start a relationship with someone who also worked in the mortgage industry, Estella Gardinier. However, the promise ring they ended the season with did not translate into a romance that lasted outside the show. Within a year, he was married to soap star Rebecca Budig from "All My Children," but they later divorced.

"The Bachelorette" Season 1: Trista Rehn was our inaugural “Bachelorette” in 2003 – and set a high bar for those who came after her. The “Bachelor” Season 1 runner-up not only ended her season engaged to firefighter Ryan Sutter, but more than 20 years later they are still going strong in their family of four. She’s made sporadic appearances on reality TV shows – including as a fairy godmother of sorts to her “Bachelorette” descendants – over the years, but it was her time filming Fox’s “Special Forces: World's Toughest Test” that generated headlines. Ryan’s cryptic posts about missing his wife (before it was confirmed that Trista was on the competition show) sparked a maelstrom of speculation that the couple might’ve split in 2024. But Trista, as she told USA TODAY in 2025 "wasn't getting a divorce or having a nervous breakdown, curled up in the corner of my house. I was having a nervous breakdown on top of a 300-foot bridge in Wales."

"The Bachelor" Season 2: In 2002, banker Aaron Buerge boasted having the first engagement in the franchise. He went on dates with his contestants mostly across California, took his final three to slightly more world-renowned destinations and eventually got down on one knee for school psychologist Helene Eksterowicz. What they couldn’t boast, however, was a lasting engagement; they broke up shortly after the finale.

"The Bachelor" Season 1: The first-ever “Bachelor” was marketed as the all-American heartthrob and the country's most eligible bachelor in March 2002. Alex Michel, 31, was his high school class valedictorian, had a bachelor’s degree from Harvard and a master’s degree from Stanford. In its nascent era, “The Bachelor” had “invitation nights” instead of rose ceremonies, a deliberation room for the bachelor and host-slash-mentor Chris Harrison and early-round hometown dates. As this was before the ending-the-season-with-an-engagement format, Alex ended his season on dating terms with Amanda Marsh, which lasted less than a year. Rather than spinning his reality TV stardom into a career as a media personality, Alex instead disappeared from the public eye, with barely any online presence to his name.
