July 26: Royals catcher Drew Butera gets the final out of a 13-0 loss to the Angels.

July 3: Indians catcher Chris Gimenez allows 4 earned runs over two innings in a 17-1 loss to the Blue Jays. He becomes the first Indians position player to pitch at least two innings since Willie Smith in 1968.

July 3: Cubs catcher Miguel Montero throws 31 pitches -- non of which that appeared to top 82 mph -- and 19 strikes over 1.1 innings against the Mets in a 14-3 loss.

July 2: Red Sox outfielder Ryan LaMarre works a scoreless ninth inning while allowing two hits in a 21-2 loss to the Angels.

July 2: Rangers catcher Bryan Holaday pitches a perfect 1.1 innings against the Twins in a 17-5 loss.

July 1: Rays utility man Taylor Motter relieves the bullpen and gets the final out in the ninth inning in a 10-2 loss to the Tigers.

July 1: The Blue Jays sent not one, but two position players to the mound against the Indians in an extra inning affair, using Ryan Goins in the 18th inning and Darwin Barney in the 19th. ... Goins loaded up the bases with one out before inducing an inning-ending double play off the bat of Chris Gimenez.

... Barney suffers the loss, allowing the leadoff home run to Indians' Carlos Santana, before retiring the next three batters he faces.

June 21: Pirates catcher Erik Kratz pitches an inning of relief in a 15-4 loss to the Giants at PNC Park.

June 3: Trailing 12-2 against the Astros, Athletics utility player Tyler Ladendorf allows one hit in 1/3 of an inning.

May 31: Christian Bethancourt, who begins the game at catcher then moves to the outfield when the game with the Mariners is out of hand, came on to pitch in the eighth inning. He mixes speeds -- from 96 miles per hour down to 54 mph.

May 20: With the Cardinals down 9-2 against the Diamondbacks heading to the top of the ninth, infielder Ruben Tejada was called upon to save the bullpen. He allows two earned runs -- both home runs -- in one inning.
