Ernie Johnson says 37th year as 'Inside the NBA' host will be last

Oct. 28, 2026, 6:02 p.m. ET
TNT college basketball analyst Ernie Johnson on air before the National Championship of the 2026 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament between the Michigan Wolverines and the Connecticut Huskies at Lucas Oil Stadium on April 6, 2026 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Longtime host Ernie Johnson announced Wednesday, Oct. 28, in a video message posted to his social media channel that the 2026-27 season, which began last week, will be his last with the show. "You know I’ve been hosting 'Inside the NBA' for a long time – this is my 37th year." Johnson said. "I’ve long described it as a 'get to job,' still amazed that I get to do this for a living. As the years have gone by, and I turned 70 this past summer, folks have asked me: 'So how long are you going to keep doing Inside?' Well I want to take a couple of minutes of your time to answer that. "This will be my last season. Totally my decision. It’s just time." Look back at his career.
