On Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 4:36 a.m., over 20 Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) units responded to reports of a structure fire at reportedly at the home of Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra,
Fire crews arrived to find two structures on the property fully involved. Due to the need for additional support, the call was upgraded to a second-alarm fire. Because of a partial collapse, firefighters switched to a defensive attack to extinguish the fire.

The fire is out now, and fire crews remain on scene monitoring for hot spots. There are no reported injuries and the home was unoccupied at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
