Rick Jervis is a National Correspondent for USA TODAY based in Austin, Texas. He began his journalism career at the Miami Herald, where he won a shared Pulitzer Prize for Investigative Journalism for a series on voter fraud. He has also worked at the Wall Street Journal Europe and the Chicago Tribune. Rick was USA TODAY's Baghdad Bureau Chief from 2005-2007, where he covered the Shiite-Sunni conflict and the trial of Saddam Hussein and participated in more than 25 military embeds. He is the author of "THE DEVIL BEHIND THE BADGE," a nonfiction narrative account of the 2018 serial murders in Laredo by a U.S. Border Patrol agent. He lives in Austin with his wife and two daughters.
