Debbie Harry was raped at knifepoint, the Blondie singer reveals in a harrowing passage of her revealing new memoir, “Face It.”

In a chapter recalling the early days of Blondie in mid-70s New York City, Harry and then-boyfriend Chris Stein (co-founder and guitarist of Blondie) came home to Stein’s apartment after a night out and were accosted.

“As we reached the front door that night, a dude … came up from behind us with a knife.”

Harry writes that a man held the couple at knifepoint and demanded money and drugs. When they weren’t able to provide much of either, the assailant bound Stein with a pair of pantyhose. He tied Harry’s wrists with a scarf and told her to lie down on a mattress then ransacked the apartment, grabbing guitars and a camera.

“Then he untied my hands and told me to take off my pants," she wrote, indicating he then raped her, told her to clean herself and left. “I’m very glad this happened pre-AIDS or I might have freaked. In the end, the stolen guitars hurt me more than the rape.”

Harry, now 74, makes no indication if the incident was reported to the police.

“Face It” goes on sale Oct. 1 from Dey Street Books.
