Oprah, polka dots and chaos at Christian Siriano fashion show inside Macy's
Anika ReedNEW YORK – Spotted at New York Fashion Week: the enduring trend of the season, an A-list billionaire and a sprinkle of sartorial pandemonium.
Oprah Winfrey, who popped up earlier in the week at Ralph Lauren's fashion show, caused quite the commotion with her appearance at Christian Siriano's runway show Sept. 12.
The Siriano show found its home at the Macy's Herald Square flagship store (yes, the location of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade), and much like the "Saturday Night Live" bits with Bill Hader as Stefon, New York's hottest event had everything: Oprah, polka dots and chaos.
Winfrey, of course, was seated in the star-studded front row, which also included "CBS Mornings" host Gayle King, Lizzo, Whoopi Goldberg, Patricia Clarkson, "White Lotus" star Natasha Rothwell, Adam Lambert and more.

And though New York Fashion Week can at times feel like "Hunger Games" meets "Devil Wears Prada," the lead-up to the show was more than the average fashion fuss. Lines of hundreds of guests snaked around the inside of the department store (which takes up an entire city block in Manhattan), with onlookers snapping photos quizzically.
But down an escalator and away from the lookie-loos was a runway that would have been serene, with its cream colored carpets and swag fabric hung from the ceilings, if it weren't for the 600+ guests being pushed toward their seats.

It was Oprah-mania as Winfrey and King arrived for the show, and as they made their way for the exit after, with security trying (and at times failing) to keep fans and their selfies at bay. Winfrey sported a cropped black satin tuxedo jacket and a matching silky top and pants, while King rocked a turquoise, off-the-shoulder midi dress.
"Round of applause to @csiriano on his latest collection! Placing my order on some pieces when I get home," Winfrey captioned an Instagram video of her outing.

Michaela Jaé Rodriguez and Rothwell posed together for photos before chatting and giggling with each other, while Goldberg and Lizzo, who sported siren red hair for the occasion, grasped hands as they greeted each other.

Polka dots, which have seen a resurgence all summer, are here to stay if Siriano has anything to say about it. A series of black and white ensembles, many featured spots, stripes, sheer paneling, sparkling plaids and exaggerated hips, came down the runway before a rainbow of brightly colored, voluminous gowns appeared.

Multiple pieces from the collection look like front-runners for Taylor Swift's upcoming "Life of a Showgirl" album rollout (or some of her many possible wedding looks for before, during and after she says "I do" to fiancé Travis Kelce). A full-body, gloved catsuit with gleaming gems draped down the neck, bodice and sleeves screamed Swift's new "era," while a gown with a sheer tulle skirt and "bejeweled" corset top dripping in sparkles felt "Showgirl," but make it bridal.
