Following Rob Reiner and wife Michele Singer Reiner's deaths, all eyes are on the Hollywood couple's children.

The couple shared three children: actors Jake Reiner and Romy Reiner, and screenwriter Nick Reiner. Rob Reiner also adopted actress Tracy Reiner, the daughter of his first wife, actress and filmmaker Penny Marshall.

The deaths of Rob Reiner, 78, and wife Michele Singer are under investigation after the couple was found in their Los Angeles home in the city's Brentwood neighborhood on Sunday, Dec. 14, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. After a report that Nick, 32, was being questioned in relation to the death investigation, he was taken into custody and is being held on no bail, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department records viewed by USA TODAY.

The couple's children have done extensive work in acting and writing: Their youngest child, Romy, 28, starred in the 2023 film "You People" and is writing an upcoming TV series; their oldest son, Jake, is starring in the upcoming comedy "Love and Taxe$" and the 2025 comedy "Things Like This." Meanwhile, their youngest son, Nick, has one credit on his IMDb page: the 2015 drama "Being Charlie," for which he is credited as co-writer.

Nick Reiner has been the most forward-facing of the Reiner siblings. The writer has opened up extensively about his battles with drug addiction as well as homelessness, telling People in a 2016 interview that his struggles began as a teen.

He told the magazine he made his first visit to rehab at 15, and would return 17 times. His film "Being Charlie" is loosely based on the experience. His dad directed the film.

Nick Reiner, then 22, told the magazine he became homeless due to his refusal to return to rehab. "If I wanted to do it my way and not go to the programs they were suggesting, then I had to be homeless," he said. "Now, I’ve been home for a really long time. But there was a lot of dark years there."

Rob Reiner, a celebrated actor, director and producer whose work shaped American television and cinema for decades, became famous for his portrayal of Michael "Meathead" Stivic on the groundbreaking sitcom "All in the Family," winning two Emmy Awards as Archie Bunker's son-in-law. 

Though he had dozens of acting credits to his name, he transitioned to directing and created beloved films including "This Is Spinal Tap," "Stand by Me," "The Princess Bride," "Misery," "A Few Good Men" and "When Harry Met Sally ..."
