Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula were 'living separately' before split, he says

Jan. 23, 2026, 8:07 a.m. ET

Kyle Cooke is opening up about his split with Amanda Batula, after four years of marriage.

Cooke said the couple is in "a good spot" and that their joint statement on the split, posted to their Instagram stories on Monday, Jan. 19, was the result of being "in talks with her the whole week."

In an interview with TikToker Adam Glyn on Thursday, Jan. 22, Cooke said the breakup started as the couple "living separately," but that the move "was the worst-kept secret." He added: "But we just weren't ready to talk about it."

The "Summer House" stars wrote in their joint statement on Monday that "with a heavy heart," they had "mutually and amicably decided to part ways as a couple" after "much reflection."

"It's a lot to swallow when your entire relationship from the very, very beginning was on TV. We knew it wasn't going to be easy," Cooke told Glyn. "There's still a lot of love. It's both the hard part, but also, it's making this easier for the both of us."

Cooke, 43, and Batula, 34, got engaged in 2018 and married in 2021. The pair have starred in the Bravo series, about young New York City professionals who share a summer house in the Hamptons, for all 10 seasons, and the ebbs and flows in their relationship have been a central plotline.

"It feels ironic to ask for privacy during this time since we've always tried to be open and honest about our relationship, but your kindness and respect will go a long way as we try to navigate our next chapter," their joint statement concluded, signed "Amanda & Kyle."

Though Batula has yet to make her own statements publicly, she has previously spoken about being someone who prioritizes her wellbeing. In an interview with USA TODAY in April, she said she was taking "small steps to just feel like normal and feel like I’m able to keep my sanity."

Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke attend the OK! Magazine summer kickoff party at Magic Hour at Moxy Times Square on May 15, 2018, in New York City.

The "Summer House" Season 10 trailer, released Dec. 7, hinted at more troubles in Cooke and Batula's marriage. In one clip, the reality star says, "I wanted him to stop going out and partying, and he found a career where he goes out late and parties." In another clip, Cooke, now a DJ, said of his wife, "I played the biggest gig of my life, and Amanda couldn't care less. I don't know what matters to her anymore."

The latest season of "Summer House" premieres Feb. 3 on Bravo.

Bravo has also announced a spinoff series with Batula, Cooke and "Summer House" costar Lindsay Hubbard, which has wrapped production and is set to premiere sometime in 2026.
