Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have arrived in the Middle East for a two-day trip in Jordan.

The couple traveled from their new home in Southern California to the region to shed light on communities affected by war and displacement, the BBC reports. Harry and Meghan, who retreated from their roles as senior royals in 2020 after a public rift with the palace, arrived Wednesday at the invitation of Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, director-general of the World Health Organization, the outlet reports.

In separate appearances Feb. 25, Duchess Meghan wore a simple, sleek uniform defined by neutrals. In a visit to a specialty hospital in Amman, she paired olive green cargo pants with a brown belt and a high-necked black blouse.

In another look, worn for a WHO roundtable, Meghan donned a white-on-white ensemble. Her signature black locks falling in a soft curl, the duchess layered a white tweed blazer over a crisp pair of white slacks and a silk shirt to match.

The pair, who have made public health a key component of their activism, also paid a visit to the Za'atari refugee camp in Jordan. Their visit arrives amid turmoil for Harry's estranged family.

British police arrested Harry's uncle, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the former Prince Andrew, on Feb. 19 on suspicion of misconduct in public life.

For years, Mountbatten-Windsor, 66, has faced scrutiny over his past friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. He has not been charged with a crime and has denied wrongdoing. King Charles III, Prince Harry's father, previously said in a statement that he learned of Andrew's arrest with "the deepest concern."

Since Harry and Meghan moved to California in 2020, they have been critical of their lives within the royal family and the institution in interviews, TV documentaries and Harry's autobiography, "Spare."
