Lainey Wilson marries ex-NFL star Devlin Hodges

Country star Lainey Wilson has officially tied the knot with Devlin Hodges, a former NFL quarterback.

The two were wed at the Ruskin Cave in Dickson, Tennessee, according to an exclusive Vogue interview published May 14. Founded in 1869, the 160-acre wedding venue is an hour west of Nashville, nestled along the waters of Yellow Creek.

The Grammy-winning singer, who was styled by Alexandra Mandelkorn, wore a custom Oscar de la Renta dress, which featured delicate Japanese cherry blossom motifs around the neckline and sprinkled throughout the white gown.

“The cherry blossom represents living in the moment, and that’s exactly what we did,” Wilson said.

Hodges, who was styled by Raina Gir, sported a bespoke suit by D. Lacquaniti with a custom bolo, cufflinks and a hat pin, which were created with Mud Lowery. His boots were custom made by Golden West Boots, and his cowboy hat was crafted by Charlie 1 Horse.

"We wanted it to be special and beautiful, but really welcoming and comfortable for our guests," Wilson said of their ceremony.

"We tried not to take ourselves too seriously," she continued. Being from Louisiana, I wanted to bring in a little bit of Cajun flair, so naturally we hired a 12-piece jazz band called Rebirth and had a Cajun meal from the chefs at my bar, Bell Bottoms Up."

How did Lainey Wilson and Devlin Hodges meet?

Wilson fell head-over-boots for Hodges when they began dating in 2021. They met through mutual friends in Nashville.

For their first date, Wilson brought Hodges to Silverado's in Nashville, where she lied about having a clever nickname akin to "Duck."

"On our first date, I told him that people call me Goose. I was lying, but he fell for it. I think he was like, 'Oh, I'm in love,'" Wilson told Southern Living.

The relationship went public in May 2023 when the couple walked the ACM Awards red carpet together.

The couple announced their engagement on Instagram in February 2025. Wilson shared sweet photos of the two embracing on the old porch steps of George Jones estate in Franklin.

Who is Devlin 'Duck' Hodges?

Hodges is a former quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers who briefly joined the Los Angeles Rams and Ottawa Redblacks before retiring from pro football in 2022.

According to US Weekly, "Duck" is a nickname that can be traced back to his college football days. He is also a duck hunter.

As The Tennessean previously reported, Hodges worked for real estate agency Mossy Oak Properties in 2024 and as an agent for Memphis' Myers Cobb Realtors.
