'RHOC' alum Kelly Dodd accused of revenge porn in new lawsuit

May 28, 2026, 4:41 p.m. ET

A new lawsuit against "The Real Housewives of Orange County" alum Kelly Dodd reveals she is facing multiple charges related to allegations of revenge porn.

Dodd, 50, has been charged with three misdemeanors on counts of battery, telephone calls with intent to annoy and disorderly conduct for "intentionally distributing or causing to be distributed the image of the intimate body part or parts of another identifiable person," according to documents obtained by USA TODAY.

On Aug. 29, 2025, prosecutors allege that the reality star "did unlawfully and intentionally distribute" explicit images of an unnamed individual, referred to as Jane Doe #2, engaged in various sexual acts and with their "intimate body part and parts" exposed, per the criminal complaint, which was filed May 12 in the Superior Court of California in Orange County.

Prosecutors say that Dodd was aware her actions would cause the alleged victim 'serious emotional distress'

The material was "recorded and captured under circumstances in which Jane Doe #2 had a reasonable expectation of privacy," and Dodd and the individual allegedly agreed to keep the images private, according to the complaint. She then allegedly obtained them "by exceeding authorized access from the property, accounts, messages, files, and resources of Jane Doe #2."

The same day the distribution of the images allegedly occurred, Dodd is accused of "harassing and annoying communication" when she allegedly called the individual and, using "obscene language," made "a threat to inflict injury to Jane Doe #2's person, property, and family," the complaint says.

Kelly Dodd attends the season two premiere of "Hollywood Houselift With Jeff Lewis" on Dec. 6, 2023, in Los Angeles.

The battery charge stems from an incident on June 20, 2025, during which Dodd allegedly "willfully and unlawfully use[d] force and violence" toward another individual, called Jane Doe #1 in the complaint.

Dodd's arraignment is scheduled to take place on Thursday, May 28, at 2:30 p.m. local time.

Dodd addressed the allegations, calling them 'absurd'

The television personality spoke out in a video for her and husband Rick Leventhal's YouTube series, "The Rick and Kelly Show," posted on Thursday, May 28. Dodd claimed that she learned of the legal action from TMZ, which was first to report the news.

“I was like, ‘What the actual f--- is going on here?’” she said, before Leventhal, 66, said that his wife "can't wait to reveal the truth."

“Well, I can’t talk about it right now because I have court tomorrow at 2:30 at Harbor,” Dodd said. “But on this week’s 'Rick and Kelly Show' on Patreon, we are going to tell the whole story.”

She also called the situation "beyond absurd," and alleged that "it's somebody in my family that is putting this stuff out there."
