Singer Linda Perhacs found safe after being reported missing

Linda Perhacs, the psychedelic folk artist known for her rediscovered album "Parallelograms," has been found after her loved ones reported her missing.
Perhacs, 82, has been found "safe and in a new care facility," according to a post on the singer's Instagram page. Her former manager, Laurel Stearns, also confirmed the update in a statement with USA TODAY.
"Law enforcement has just confirmed that she has been found and is safe," Stearns told the outlet in a story published Thursday, July 30. "We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who helped amplify this effort by sharing information, reaching out with support, and expressing genuine care for Linda's well-being."
The singer went missing after straying from her residential care facility, according to Stearns. She told Fox News Digital and The New York Times on July 28 that Perhacs was discharged from the Northridge, California, facility under her legal guardian's supervision eight months ago but had not been directly heard from since despite "repeated attempts to communicate" with Perhacs and her guardian. Perhacs was receiving care for dementia, Stearns told the Times.
Now, Stearns thanked supporters and authorities for helping "bring clarity to this situation" and asked, "that Linda's privacy be respected as those close to her determine the best path forward."
She added, "We hope this moment allows for compassion, healing, and continued support for an artist whose work has touched so many lives."
USA TODAY has reached out to Perhacs' former manager for comment.
The Santa Monica, California, native's debut 1970 album, "Parallelograms," was overlooked before being rediscovered in the late 1990s as part of the New Weird America music scene. The album, produced by "Planet of the Apes" film composer and Oscar winner Leonard Rosenman, was reissued multiple times to much more fanfare.
Forty-four years later, Perhacs released her second album, "The Soul of All Natural Things," followed by 2017's "I'm a Harmony."
An Adult Protective Services case and police report have been filed regarding Perhacs' disappearance, according to Fox News Digital. USA TODAY has reached out to the Los Angeles Police Department for confirmation.
Perhacs' disappearance echoes the Nancy Guthrie case, as the 84-year-old mother of "Today" anchor Savannah Guthrie has been missing for nearly six months. The case has turned a spotlight on dozens of missing persons in her Arizona community.
