  • The 37th annual Barnstable Brown Derby Eve Gala has announced its star-studded guest list for 2026.
  • This year's attendees include music icons Patti LaBelle, Chaka Khan, Luis Fonsi, and members of *NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys.
  • The gala is famous for its spontaneous musical performances and celebrity red carpet arrivals.
  • Since 1989, the event has raised over $22 million for diabetes treatment and research.

Louisville’s biggest, boldest, most star‑soaked tradition is revving up again, and the buzz is already electric.

Patricia Barnstable-Brown has dropped her guest list, for her 2026 Kentucky Derby Eve Gala, and it’s an absolute showstopper. Crowned by Condé Nast as one of the “Ten Best Parties in the World,” this iconic Kentucky Derby Week spectacle is roaring into its 37th year with a roster gleaming with Hollywood heat, music industry royalty and sports world legends.

Once again, Barnstable-Brown has hand‑picked a star-powered, genre‑spanning mix of musicians, actors, athletes, and TV powerhouses. Her 2026 guest list brings a curated constellation of star power to Louisville that guarantees the kind of magic worthy of "the most exciting two minutes in sports" — The Kentucky Derby.

"We have a wonderful night planned with so many wonderful guests — plus there will be large screens showing the Kentucky Oaks race during the party, a lavish dinner served all night and the music lineup we've put together this year blows my mind," Barnstable-Brown told The Courier Journal. "This mix of artists is just so much fun, its going to be an unforgettable party."

The Barnstable Brown Derby Eve Gala isn’t just the hottest ticket in Kentucky on Friday, May 1 — it’s the night Louisville vibrates with star power on the red carpet and a celebration that promises to radiate with the same electric confidence Patti LaBelle belts out in “New Attitude.”

This year’s red carpet will shimmer with LaBelle herself — the Godmother of Soul and the voice behind the iconic line “I’m feelin’ good from my head to my shoes.” She’ll share the spotlight with The War and Treaty, the powerhouse duo whose thunderous harmonies carry the emotional voltage of “Love Like There’s No Tomorrow.” Pop favorites Lance Bass and Joey Fatone of *NSYNC fame, along with Howie Dorough, the smooth‑voiced Backstreet Boy, are certain to snap party guests to their feet. And global hitmaker Luis Fonsi, the voice behind “Despacito,” a song that continues to ripple across dance floors worldwide, will send that same pulse surging throughout the tented backyard stage on Friday night.

The gala has become famous for its spontaneous music mashups, which never fail to delight party guests. In 2025, while men dressed in tuxedos and women in sequined, drenched ballgowns piled onto the dance floor, a rapid succession of musical guests took to the stage, including Lee Brice, followed by Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men, who belted out the Beatles' "Come Together."

There will be even more star power at this year's party. The Barnstable-Brown family has also revealed that the incomparable Chaka Khan will be among the invited guests. A 10‑time Grammy Award winner and true music icon, she'll be joined at the 2026 gala by country royalty Tanya Tucker, a powerhouse whose career spans decades. Rising country star Nate Smith, known for his gritty vocals and country anthems, is scheduled to attend along with rapper T.I., known for his unmistakable Southern swagger, and hip-hop pioneer Doug E. Fresh, the human beatbox himself, is also set to inject the night with his iconic rhythm.

Part of the fun of this party is the excitement that erupts as spectators catch a glimpse of their favorite celebrities arriving by limo at the front gates to the estate. It's become a tradition for Louisville residents to set up lawn chairs along Spring Drive in the Highlands neighborhood — hours in advance of the arrival of their favorite stars, which this year will also include at least a dozen current and former players for the NFL, plus stars of the new Hallmark film "Kentucky Roses," Andrew Walker and Odette Annable.

Of course there is the annual mystery everyone loves to dissect — what will Dannielynn Birkhead wear to the party this year? The daughter of the late Anna Nicole Smith has turned the Barnstable-Brown red carpet into a heartfelt fashion time capsule.

In 2025, she arrived with her dad, Larry Birkhead, wearing the very same dress her mother wore to the gala in 2003 — the night Smith and Birkhead first met.

In earlier years, Dannielynn has stepped out in an outfit once worn by Janet Jackson to the same event almost two decades ago. In 2023, Dannielynn honored her mother again, choosing a black tulle skirt and a blouse printed with images from Smith’s iconic Guess campaign, complete with rhinestone shoes that added just the right touch of sparkle.

Described as "The best house party in Kentucky" by Chris Barnstable-Brown, the importance of the event reaches beyond the celebrities who attend the annual pre-Kentucky Derby soirée. Since its inception in 1989, the Barnstable Brown Derby Eve Gala has donated more than $22 million for diabetes treatment and research from the proceeds of the annual party.

Arriving on the red carpet in 2025, actor Blair Underwood remarked, "This party is laid back and easy and really, really fun and … it raises money for a good cause and it's full of southern charm."

Patricia Barnstable-Brown told The Courier Journal the donations to the star studded event have led to the creation of The Barnstable Brown Diabetes Center at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, which, in a single year, treats more than 22,000 patients. And thanks to the Barnstable Brown Derby Eve Gala, the center's focus on diabetes research has led to significant advancements in diabetes treatment and care.
