Jennifer Lawrence is revealing the one film that slipped through her fingers.

The "Die My Love" actress, 35, revealed during a recent appearance on the "Happy Sad Confused with Josh Horowitz" podcast that she was not cast in "Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood" because of her looks. The 2019 film, directed by Quentin Tarantino, starred Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie.

"Tarantino's been chasing you. He wants you," Horowitz said, to which Lawrence responded: "I don't know about that."

"That's true. No, he said that [he wanted you]," Horowitz countered, adding: "'Hateful Eight.' The Jennifer Jason Leigh part was originally written for you, I believe."

"I turned it down, which I should not have done," she added. When Horowitz asked about why she wasn't cast in "Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood," despite rumors that Tarantino wanted her, she said fans had cried foul over her appearance.

"Well, he did and then everybody was like, 'She’s not pretty enough to play Sharon Tate,' and then they didn't [cast me]," Lawrence said, adding later: "The internet just, like, went out of their way to call me ugly."

USA TODAY has reached out to Tarantino's rep for comment.

Robbie was eventually cast in the role of Tate, a real-life actress and model who was killed in 1969 as a result of the Manson Family murders. Set that same year in Los Angeles, "Once Upon a Time" follows an actor past his prime, and his wildly adventurous stunt double, as they attempt to keep their stars from fading. The plot exists in the shadow of Tate's murder.
