When does 'The Devil Wears Prada 2' come out? What we know so far

Years after manning phones and delivering "the book," Andy (Anne Hathaway) has returned to the world of fashion with a renewed sense of purpose. She is the new features editor at Runway Magazine, after all.
"Runway... is not just a magazine. It's a global icon. A winding road... that brings us back... together again," Nigel narrates in the "Devil Wears Prada 2" trailer. "Well, look, what T.J. Maxx dragged in."
Based on Lauren Weisberger's famed novel, "The Devil Wears Prada" follows the life of Andrea Sachs i.e., "one of the Emilys" who struggles to strike a balance between personal and the professional after she's hired as an assistant to cutthroat magazine editor Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep).
While 20th Century Studios has kept the details about the sequel's plot close to the vest, it is likely that the storyline of "The Devils Wears Prada 2" will take inspiration from Weisberger's second novel, which offers an intimate look at Andy's life years after she left Miranda and Runway.
"Almost 20 years after making their iconic turn as Miranda, Andy, Emily and Nigel — Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci return to the fashionable streets of New York City and the sleek offices of Runway Magazine in the eagerly awaited sequel to the 2006 phenomenon that defined a generation," 20th Century Studios said in a Feb. 1 blurb.

When does 'The Devil Wears Prada 2' come out?
The highly anticipated sequel to "The Devil Wears Prada" will make its theatrical debut on May 1. It will kick off a big summer for Hathaway, who is also starring in Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey," which hits theaters in July.
