Get the popcorn ready, South Florida: The 43rd annual Miami Film Festival, April 9-19, 2026, is set to present more than 160 projects from around the world at a series of local theaters.
“This year’s lineup reflects an extraordinary moment for Miami Film Festival, featuring films from celebrated filmmakers like Steven Soderbergh, Sofia Coppola, Gregg Araki, and John Carney, alongside bold new discoveries from around the world,” Lauren Cohen, director of programming, said in a news release.
At least 40 projects will be world premieres, two international premieres, 11 North American premieres, and five U.S. premieres, the film festival site reported in March 2026.
“With films from 45 countries and our largest-ever Made-in-MIA program, it’s a lineup that feels both truly global and authentically rooted in Miami’s filmmaking community,” Cohen said online.

Which films are part of the lineup?
The 2026 Miami Film Festival in South Florida will screen more than “160 narratives, documentaries and short films of all genres.” On opening night, Daniel Roher’s “Tuner” will kick things off, starring Leo Woodall and Dustin Hoffman. The closing night slot went to John Carney’s “Power Ballad,” starring Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas.
Where will 2026 Miami Film Festival films be shown?
According to its website, participating venues include the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, the Bill Cosford Cinema at the University of Miami, the Colony Theatre and the Coral Gables Art Cinema, among others.
How to buy tickets to the Miami Film Festival
Day-of-show tickets are available at all venues and online, according to the festival's website, though they are subject to availability. Theater box offices open one hour before the first screening of the day begins and close a half hour after the final screening.
There is also a "rush line" for screenings that have sold out – if there are empty seats just before showtime, tickets will be released to those waiting in the rush line outside.
Prices vary between $9 and $100 depending on the screening or event you're looking to attend. Tickets to the opening night film, “Tuner,” cost $34 for general audience and $30 for members. Tickets to “Power Ballad,” the closing night film, cost $29 for general audience and $25 for members.
