A Swift-Kelce wedding on center court? Madison Square Garden has lots to offer

Updated June 25, 2026, 5:18 p.m. ET
  • The main arena at Madison Square Garden can be configured for events like banquets or cocktail receptions.
  • In addition to the main arena, the venue offers smaller spaces like a theater and various VIP spaces.

Can you imagine holding your wedding at a 19,000-seat arena?

Of course, the average person can't fathom this. But Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, who are rumored to be holding a pretty big celebration at Madison Square Garden in July, aren't average. According to Forbes, Swift's net worth is $2 billion. Kelce hasn't done too shabby either, racking in $111 million from NFL contracts alone.

With seemingly endless resources, the two could probably turn any location into a wedding venue. And according to its website, Madison Square Garden can host more than just a concert or sporting event.

Here's a look at the different parts of the World's Most Famous Arena that might be utilized by the engaged couple should they decide to hold their wedding in the midtown Manhattan venue. As of press time, a representative for Madison Square Garden didn't respond to USA TODAY's request for comment.

The main arena: Will Taylor and Travis wed on a basketball court?

The biggest part of Madison Square Garden is the most known: a 19,000-seat bowl covered with an iconic roof. The floor houses a basketball court for the NBA's Knicks and an ice rink for the NHL's Rangers. The Garden also regularly hosts college sports, including a portion of the St. John's men's basketball team's home schedule.

But the arena can be configured for much more than concerts and sporting events. According to the venue's website, there are at least three other layout options for the main court: a cocktail reception (2,000 people), banquet event with seated tables, catering area and dance floor (1,250), and theater-style seating in rows (2,000).

The Garden's main floor has hosted dinners as recently as this year. In April, Chase Sapphire Reserve held a dinner on the Knicks famed court. Invited guests included actor Ben Stiller and former Knick stars Walt "Clyde" Frazier and Stephon Marbury. Popular restaurants San Sabino and Don Angie catered the event.

Could Taylor and Travis use a different part of Madison Square Garden?

While the arena is the largest option for hosting a party inside Madison Square Garden, it is not the only option. MSG also houses a 5,500 seat theater. And there are multiple club and VIP rooms that can be rented.

The largest of the VIP areas is the Delta Sky360 club, which is typically accessible to attendees with floor tickets at Garden events, and can hold 300 people for cocktails and 150 for banquet or theater seating. The room is already set up with a large bar and catering capabilities in addition to private bathrooms and elevator access. This area could serve as a space for cocktail hour or as a welcome spot for guests en route to other areas of the arena.

There's also the Chase Lounge, which is typically open before Knicks and Rangers games exclusively for Chase card holders. The space fits 250 and is already set up for both dining and cocktails. The room also features a 60-person board room.

The Lexus Terrace, which overlooks the main entrance of the Garden that faces 7th Avenue, is also available for rent, with capacity for 200 people.

Where were past MSG weddings held?

While a wedding inside Madison Square Garden is unusual, it is not unprecedented. In 1974, Sly Stone married actress Kathy Silva onstage at Madison Square Garden during a Sly and the Family Stone concert. In 1982, the venue hosted a mass wedding ceremony involving more than 2,000 couples as part of a Unification Church Marriage Blessing.

Both of those weddings occurred in the main arena. But neither involved arguably the most famous person in the world.
