See Sombr's hilarious reaction after pop star chips tooth at concert

Sombr's body isn't ready for the rigors of tour life, especially his pearly whites.

The Grammy-nominated singer and rising pop star revealed he chipped his tooth for the fourth time onstage during a concert in Milwaukee on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Sombr, whose real name is Shane Boose, performed at the Fiserv Forum as part of his ongoing You Are the Reason Tour.

The 21-year-old singer was 11 songs deep into his set when he realized his dental injury. He stopped the show to ask the audience if anyone had a cellphone that he could borrow to check himself. "Oh ... I chipped my tooth again!" Sombr said in shock after looking in the camera.

Sombr attends the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sept. 27, 2026.

The "Back to Friends" crooner then explained that he was drinking from his water bottle when he "banged" his tooth on the container.

"Make some noise for me," Sombr said. "I'm [a] really tough rock star."

Unfortunately, this isn't the first time Sombr's oral health has been put in jeopardy while performing. Last November, the singer chipped his tooth during a concert in Brooklyn, New York, according to People magazine.

Sombr poked fun at his repeated injuries during Tuesday's show. After chipping his tooth, the singer announced the return of "Thombr," a nickname he gave himself to describe the temporary lisp he had after damaging the tooth.

The incident didn't slow down Sombr, however.

Piet Levy, who serves as a music writer for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (part of the USA TODAY Network), wrote in a review that "as energetic as he was earlier in the night, the injury somehow made him even more brazen onstage, with Sombr throwing all caution to the wind as he wildly whipped a microphone around by the cord for subsequent song 'Crushing.'"

"And for the rest of the show, Sombr repeatedly showed off his chipped tooth to the production's video team, joked about getting new veneers after going Hollywood and spray-painted 'Thombr Loves Milwaukee' on a black flag he walked through the crowd," Levy added.

Sombr kicked off the You Are the Reason Tour, his second headlining run in less than a year, on July 22. The world tour follows the breakout success of his 2025 debut album, "I Barely Know Her," which spawned the top 10 hit "Back to Friends" and earned him a Grammy nomination for best new artist.

Sombr's next concert is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 4, at the United Center in Chicago, according to his official website.
