We've highlighted the TV shows (and a few movies) we think are worth your notice, from the return of John Cena's "Peacemaker" on HBO Max to a new Netflix adult animated comedy, "Long Story Short."

  • This new British drama stars Suranne Jones ("Gentleman Jack) and Julie Delpy ("Before Sunrise") as the prime ministers of the U.K. and France, respectively, who meet in a rather unexpected summit that results in kidnapping and extortion.
• "Peacemaker" Season 2 (HBO Max)
  • John Cena returns as the irreverent DC Comics antihero for an eight-part second season written by "Superman" director James Gunn. The new season adds Tim Meadows and Frank Grillo, reprising his role as Rick Flagg from this summer's super blockbuster.

• "Invasion" Season 3 (Apple TV+)
• "Long Story Short" (Netflix)
  • "BoJack Horseman" creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg returns to Netflix with this new adult animated comedy that jumps back and forth in time to tell the story of a single family. Voices on the new series include Abbi Jacobson, Lisa Edelstein, Paul Reiser, Ben Feldman, Nicole Byer and Max Greenfield.
• "The Truth About Jussie Somllet?" (documentary, Netflix)
