Hosts Alex Levy (Jennifer Aniston) and Bradley Jackson (Reese Witherspoon) are back with a new season of “The Morning Show," nearly two years following the events of Season 3.

The UBA-NBN merger is now complete, and "the newsroom must grapple with newfound responsibility, hidden motives and the elusive nature of truth in a polarized America," according to Season 4's synopsis.

Episode 1 of Season 4, in true "The Morning Show" style, was jam-packed with drama and chaos, setting the stage for what's to come. According to Apple TV+, Alex, in the second episode, will fight to "prove her innocence," as "a ghost from the network’s past surfaces with a disturbing story."

"The Morning Show" has previously referenced several real-world and current topics, including the #MeToo movement, the COVID-19 pandemic and the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. For Season 4, the show will not touch on the 2024 Presidential Election.

"We did not touch the election - this season ends right before the election," director and executive producer Mimi Leder told The Hollywood Reporter at the show's New York premiere. "Our show is not about elections; our show is about the world, about AI, about deepfakes, about environmental tragedies. It's about democracy."

She added: "It's about journalists in jeopardy, journalists under threat, and our main theme this season is trust - who can you trust?"

Aniston told People in January that the upcoming season will be "a great one ... It's jam-packed, that’s for sure."
