Not just Colbert. See what other shows CBS canceled, dropped

Turns out "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" is not the only program being cut from CBS' roster this year.

A handful of other shows, including medical drama "Watson," Tim Meadows' comedy "DMV" and "The Neighborhood" have also been dropped amid schedule changes.

CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach, at a press event in April ahead of the Fall 2026-27 schedule announcement, said "DMV" and "Watson" were "a joy to work on," and that "we love both those shows."

"But, you know, it’s a high bar on CBS," Reisenbach continued, according to Deadline. "We aggregate all the numbers, and we have to make those tough decisions in order to make room for new shows."

The network announced four new shows expected to premiere this summer and fall, while 19 shows will be returning, according to an April 15 news release.

Which CBS shows have been canceled?

The network has canceled or dropped four shows, including:

• "Watson" after two seasons
• "DMV" after one season
• "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" after 10 seasons
• "The Neighborhood" after 8 seasons

New and returning shows on CBS

CBS has renewed 19 shows, including fan favorites "NCIS," "CIA," "Harlan Coben’s Final Twist," "Survivor" and "The Amazing Race."

The network and its streamer, Paramount+, also renewed the hit "Yellowstone" spin-off "Marshals," which was the most-streamed CBS series premiere ever. Paramount+ said the March 1 premiere of "Marshals" was watched by 20.6 million viewers on Paramount platforms within seven days of its release.

Here's a list of new shows coming to CBS this fall:

• "NCIS: New York" (Tuesdays, 9 p.m. ET/PT): LL Cool J's Senior Special Agent Sam Hanna will take center stage in the "newest NCIS universe expansion" as "he returns to his hometown, New York City, and partners with a roguish special agent."
• "Cupertino" (Thursdays, 10 p.m. ET/PT): In this David vs. Goliath-esque battle, a wronged lawyer (Mike Colter) partners with a young attorney (Rachel Keller) to stand up against the giants of Silicon Valley.

• "Eternally Yours" (Thursdays, 8:30 p.m. ET/PT): An eternal love story about two vampires who have been married for 500 years and their struggles to accept the human who is dating their daughter.
• "Einstein" Premiering mid-season, this show follows Matthew Gray Gubler as "the brilliant but directionless great-grandson of Albert Einstein, who is forced to put his reckless antics behind him, utilizing his genius to help solve crimes with a local police detective (Melissa Fumero)."

The release dates for the new shows have not yet been announced. CBS told USA TODAY on June 11 that it hopes to announce the dates for the fall schedule in the coming weeks.

A 'Big Brother' summer

Reality TV series "Big Brother" will take center stage during the summer at CBS as it returns for Season 28, "with its most programming hours ever," according to the network.

The show will premiere on Thursday, July 9, at 8 p.m. ET/PT with a 90‑minute special, with "Big Brother: Unlocked" airing Friday, July 10, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. After its premiere, the series will air Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET, followed by hour-long shows on Thursdays, featuring live evictions, and on Sundays at 8 p.m. ET.

The series, hosted by Julie Chen Moonves, will also celebrate its 1,000th episode this season.
