'The View' is on hiatus. Here's when new live episodes could air

July 29, 2026, 6:33 p.m. ET

New episodes of "The View" come to those who wait.

In the week since ABC's daytime talk show aired its season finale, the network has aired a rerun in place of a live episode each day, leaving viewers curious about when "The View's" co-hosts will return to the roundtable.

"Pretty in Pink" star Molly Ringwald and the cast of Broadway musical "The Lost Boys" drew Season 29 to a close with a pre-taped episode July 24.

Anya Taylor Joy joins "The View" co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Joy Behar, Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin for the July 16 show.

While a new episode of "The View" won't air for another couple of weeks, fans might be happy to learn that the cast, including Whoopi Goldberg and Ana Navarro, are making the most of their time off.

Goldberg shared a clip from an art show in Capri, Italy, while Navarro has shared photos and videos from her vacation with loved ones.

"That’s a wrap on @theviewabc Season 29," Navarro said in a July 24 Instagram post. "12 hours later, I’m in a place that makes me happy with people who make me happy."

USA TODAY contacted ABC on July 29 for additional details on the hiatus.

Here's everything we know about "The View" taking a break, including when it's slated to return.

Why isn't 'The View' live this week?

The cast of "The View" poses for a photo together.

"The View" isn't live this week (and won't be for a couple more weeks) because it's on an official hiatus following the Season 29 finale, which aired July 24.

It's not unusual for programs to take breaks in between seasons. For example, "Saturday Night Live" aired the late-night show's season finale May 16 and new episodes won't return until late September.

When will new episodes of 'The View' air?

New episodes of "The View" will likely air after Labor Day weekend in September. According to ABC, the program will air encore broadcasts until then.
