Air quality map shows US areas most impacted by Canadian wildfire smoke

Blackened skies and an apocalyptic orange haze have returned to the U.S. and Canada as toxic smoke from out-of-control wildfires creates hazardous conditions for millions of people.

Air pollution was worse in Toronto on July 15 than anywhere else in the world, including Kinshasa and Delhi, according to IQAir, a Swiss air quality technology company. New York ranked fifth. Nearly 900 active fires continued to burn across North America. About six million acres have been torched since January. And it keeps getting worse.
