Trader Joe's Halloween-themed mini totes prove popular for the holiday season

Oct. 13, 2025, 6:54 p.m. ET

It looks like Trader Joe's mini tote bags are here to stay.

Despite Black Friday-esque lines and third-party resales, the viral bags have amassed a fanbase among Trader Joe's customers, who flock to their neighborhood stores whenever a new style drops.

Customers once again flocked to Trader Joe's, this time for the "Trick-or-Treat Mini Canvas Totes," which dropped on Wednesday, Oct. 8. The bags, which retail for $2.99, are available in multiple colorways: purple, black, orange and a multi-colored version option that incorporates all three colors.

While scoring a mini tote bag from Trader Joe's has become increasingly challenging, customers have proven time and time again that they are committed to the bit. The last batch of bags was released in April and was available in Easter-themed pastel shades of blue, pink, purple, and green.

The fanfare, however, doesn't stop there, with customers showing their excitement for the Halloween-themed offering by posting reviews, customizing their bags, or simply fangirling on social media.

Here's what fans are saying.

How long will Trader Joe's 'Trick-or-Treat Mini Canvas Totes' be in stock?

Trader Joe's Halloween canvas mini tote bags will be available in stores beginning Wednesday, Oct. 8.

According to a company spokesperson, availability of the "Trick-or-Treat Mini Canvas Totes" "will vary from store to store," but it is a limited-time product.

"If customers have any questions about product availability, they can ask any Crew Member in their neighborhood store," Trader Joe's told USA TODAY on Monday, Oct. 13.

Internet coos over Trader Joe's latest line of mini totes

Trader Joe's latest line of mini totes has quickly become the season's most coveted accessory.

In the week since the product's launch, customers have taken to social media to either show off that they copped the bag or how they have personalized it with patches, charms, or paint.

"Guess what they just happen to have today?" a content creator who goes by Genossteaks shared on Oct. 10. "Halloween bags. Halloween bags. Of course I had to get one of every color. I almost got two because of the way that y'all be asking me for some whenever there's a new drop."

After showing off her haul, Genossteaks advised viewers to "run to their nearest Trader Joe's, literally immediately" because "we all know how this always goes."
