Buy candy at Aldi to use at a stocking stuffer? You may want to double check it.

Two holiday candy products sold at Aldi were recalled recently due to possible life-threatening allergic reactions after a packaging mix up.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced that Silvestri Sweets Inc. of Geneva, Illinois, is recalling some of its Choceur branded Cookie Butter Holiday Bark and its Choceur branded Pecan, Cranberry & Cinnamon Holiday Bark products over undisclosed allergens.

"No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem," the recall notice said.

The cookie butter bark may have undisclosed pecans in. Pecans could cause life-threatening allergic reactions if consumed by those who are allergic to pecans, the administration's notice said.

The pecan and cinnamon bark may have undisclosed wheat in it. Wheat could cause life-threatening allergic reactions if consumed by those who are allergic to wheat, the recall notice said.

These products were sold throughout the country at Aldi grocery stores.

Here's what you should do if you have purchased these items, according to the nation's food and drug administration.

What to do with recalled Choceur branded Holiday Barks

The recalled cookie butter holiday bark has the lot no. 29225 and the best by date of 05/2026, both of which you can find on the back of each pouch bag. The recalled pecan bark has the lot number of 29225 and best by date of 08/2026.

"Consumers who have purchased the recalled products are urged to discard the product," the recall notice said.

The product recall was instituted after it was found out that the pecan holiday bark had been packaged in the cookie butter holiday bark bags and the cookie butter holiday bark had been placed in the pecan holiday bark packaging, which resulted in undeclared pecan and wheat, respectively.

Aldi has nine locations in Rhode Island, so it's possible that they could have been sold at any of the store locations in the Ocean State.
