Trader Joe’s is doubling down on lavender, this time for its reusable insulated bag.
The specialty grocer recently launched its new Lavender Reusable Insulated Bag, which has been spied at various Trader Joe’s locations. Two piles of the insulated lavender bags were on display at Trader Joe’s Shayden Summit mall in south Reno on Sunday, April 26.
“Over the years, we’ve introduced a veritable rainbow of our handy … Insulated Bags,” Trader Joe’s said in a post about the new bags. “And now, we’re welcoming this fantastically floral-toned Trader Joe’s Lavender Insulated Bag into the lineup.”
The new color for its insulated bag comes on the heels of Trader Joe’s large lavender canvas tote bag, which was launched in March and has since sold out. The canvas tote bags also come in mini and micro versions and have gone viral in popularity.

While Trader Joe’s insulated reusable bags don’t sell as fast as its canvas totes, they still ultimately sell out. The reusable insulated bags come with extra padding and are ideal for strong cold or frozen items from the grocery store or during long trips in the car. In addition to reinforced straps for carrying a heavy load, the insulated bags also have an inner pocket for storing keys, money, utensils and napkins.
The bags, which are 1.5 feet wide and more than a foot deep, can carry about 8 gallons of groceries. They also come with a higher price tag at $8.99 compared to $3.99 for the large canvas tote bag.
The bags have also been released in various colors in the past, including red, orange, yellow, green and blue. The last couple of color releases include an olive green insulated bag last October and a dusty blue version earlier this year.
