Ricky Gervais rehires David Brent of 'The Office' for mockumentary

As David Brent would say, "

Varietyreports that Ricky Gervais will produce a feature film in 2015 about David Brent, the annoying office manager he played in the BBC's original The Office.  That series first aired in Britain in 2001 and inspired the American version on NBC, which ran from 2005 to 2013.

Instead of focusing on Brent's excruciatingly awkward workplace buffoonery, the mockumentary will instead look at his (latest) attempts to become a rock star. (It was a running joke on the original series.)

Sounds great, but if  there's not a version of Free Love Freeway with a full backing band, then why bother?

Same goes for Brent's take on Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes' R&B classic If You Don't Know Me By Now (still available from Juxtaposition Records).
