Anderson Cooper smacks down Ottawa 'dude' for wanting a selfie

Here's what happened:

Anderson Cooper was in Ottawa on Wednesday night, reporting on the tragic shooting of a soldier when Vandon Gene, who describes himself on Twitter as an aspiring journalist and who was covering the scene, approached the CNN reporter and asked to take a photo.

Cooper's response? No.

And the smackdown went one more tweet:

Then came a lashout at Cooper:

But then Gene took to Twitter (since deleted but captured by The Huffington Post) and called out Cooper, writing, "I can't believe CNN would employ you when you SWEAR to your fans," he tweeted. Adding: "I simply asked for a photo. YOU are exploiting this tragedy by flying to Ottawa from NYC. I just got out of a 12 hr lockdown."
