Nicole Kidman kissed a girl

Why were Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts wearing shower caps with their party dresses at the Women in Film awards in California Tuesday night? And why were they snogging?
Funny story that.
The Oscar-winning Kidman, who received the Crystal Award for Excellence in Film, told the audience in Century City, Calif., that she always regretted turning down years ago a role offered by Down Under director Jane Campion in one of her early films.
She declined, she said, because it required her to wear a shower cap and kiss a girl.
Too risky for Kidman at the time. Not anymore. Saying she's no longer afraid to attempt the unexpected, she urged women to "take risks, raise our voices and honor the fire within."
Then she pulled a shower cap from her purse and declared she was "ready ... to kiss any woman in the room."
Longtime pal and fellow Australian Naomi Watts, who had presented Kidman with her award, also donned a cap and presented herself for a big buss.
Much cheering, laughing and applause followed.
