The Weeknd's 'False Alarm' video is five-plus minutes of madness

Oh, wow.

The Weeknd just released a new music video for False Alarm, and it's 5 minutes and 45 seconds of madness. Warning: It contains graphic violence, expletive language and may only be suitable for people who are into that sort of thing.

So you kept reading. You're into gonzo action, huh? Us, too.

The viral music video is all seen through the perspective of a shooter (we bet you can guess who he is) who, along with a team, robs a bank, shoots a bunch of people and kidnaps an innocent woman. It's a nonstop, bloody ride until we find out what happens to our protagonist and the woman he handcuffs. (Things go very badly for one of them.)

If the style of the False Alarm video looks familiar, it's because it was directed by Ilya Naishuller, the GoPro filmmaker who made the independent Russian movie Hardcore Henry in the same looks-like-one-take, POV action style.
