Fans waiting for Fast & Furious 9 are going to have to wait a year longer than expected to see Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson and company ride.

The film's official Twitter account confirmed reports Wednesday that the release date has been pushed back a year to April 10, 2020.

The film was originally planned for release on April 19, 2019.

The tweet gave no explanation for the delay. The film's studio, Universal, had no further comment.

The eighth movie in the speedy car franchise, director F. Gary Gray's The Fate of the Furious, earned nearly $1.2 billion worldwide following its April release. The franchise, launched in 2001, has grossed $5 billion worldwide.
