Coldplay conjures 'Magic' in retro, romantic B&W video

Singer Chris Martin plays both hero and villain in the new retro-leaning video for Coldplay's single Magic, a shimmery, romantic tune from the band's upcoming Ghost Stories, out May 19.

Ghost Stories is the British rock band's sixth studio album and first since 2011's Mylo Xyloto.

In the black and white clip, directed by Jonas Åkerlund, actress Ziyi Zhang of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is cast as a bewitching magician against Martin in dual roles as her abusive husband and sympathetic assistant.
