Banana split

A banana split for breakfast keeps many of the traditional elements, just with a few twists.

  1. Split the banana in half lengthwise and place it in a dish.
  2. Dollop on your favorite yogurt or dairy-free alternative instead of ice cream. You can keep it simple with just one flavor or mix and match with vanilla, strawberry or your favorite flavors.
  3. Dress it up with your favorite toppings. Add fruits like strawberries, blueberries or crushed pineapple, along with a drizzle of chocolate, chocolate chips, almonds or granola.

Since this concoction involves yogurt, it can be enjoyed guilt-free in the morning or as a midday snack.

It’s also an easy way to get your kids involved in making breakfast by creating a toppings bar and letting them add their favorites.
