Sam's Club now sells discounted Ozempic and Wegovy

Oct. 8, 2025, 4:05 p.m. ET

Add Sam's Club to the list of retail pharmacy options for consumers who want to buy the pricey weight-loss drugs Ozempic and Wegovy.

Sam's Club pharmacies now sell Novo Nordisk's Wegovy and Ozempic for $499 per month. Costco is selling the blockbuster prescription weight-loss medications at the same discounted price.

Novo Nordisk is expanding discounted retail options for consumers who want to purchase the medication directly. The Danish drugmaker earlier announced the discount prescription drug website GoodRx would sell Ozempic and Wegovy for $499 per month. Consumers also can purchase prescribed Wegovy through the company's NovoCare Pharmacy for $499 per month.

The drugmaker is seeking to expand purchase options for Ozempic and Wegovy, which are glucagon-like peptide-1 drugs − or GLP-1s − that suppress the appetite of users, leading to weight loss. Novo Nordisk faces competition from Eli Lilly's Zepbound and Mounjaro, as well as telehealth companies that sell compounded versions of Ozempic and Wegovy despite Food and Drug Administration restrictions on copycat medications.

How can you buy Ozempic and Wegovy at Sam's Club?

Sam’s Club members can use Novo Nordisk co-pay cards to purchase prescription Wegovy and Ozempic for $499 per month. The retailer also delivers the refrigerated, injectable medicines to homes. Same-day delivery is free for Sam's Club Plus members when ordered by 2 p.m. Club and non-members pay $12 for same-day home deliveries, the retailer said.

Sam's Club said the retailer's nearly 570 U.S. pharmacies sell other temperature-controlled medications such as insulin, antibiotics and other specialty prescriptions.

The warehouse retailer has two membership levels: The Club membership costs $50 per year and the Plus membership costs $110 per year.

I have insurance. What are my options?

Wegovy is prescribed for weight loss and adults with obesity and heart disease. Ozempic is prescribed for Type 2 diabetes.

Surveys show insurers are more likely to cover GLP-1 drugs when prescribed for diabetes or heart conditions. In 2024, 44% of all large employers covered GLP-1 drugs for obesity, up from 41% in 2023, according to Mercer, a benefits consultant.

Wegovy's list price is $1,349 for a month of doses, but Novo Nordisk said most customers pay far less. About 9 in 10 consumers whose insurance plan covers Ozempic pay $25 or less per month, Novo Nordisk said. Customers who pay out of pocket for the medication can get the $499 price at Costco, Sam's Club, GoodRx and the drugmaker's NovoCare pharmacy.
