McDonald's 'KPop Demon Hunters' rare cards are pricey pursuits online
The competition for rare cards found in McDonald's "KPop Demon Hunters" meals has gone beyond the restaurant – surpassing the cost of the meals themselves and topping $100 for a specific rare card.
Fans of the animated Netflix film seeking to collect all of the cards included in the Hunter/X Meals and Saja Boys Breakfast Meals (available for a limited time) can now hunt for the cards on reselling sites. On eBay, you could spend $120 on an ultra-rare card showing characters Rumi and Juni holding hands. Also there: a rare Rumi holographic card for $75 or more. You can also find a less-rare quartet of cards for $40.
Elsewhere on the Whatnot site, where pop culture collectibles are sold via auction and live shopping shows, you can find the Hands card for $65.
"I got the one with Rumi’s and Jinu’s hands. Is that good? Can I sell these and retire? 🤞" one person posted on social media platform Reddit.
Reselling activity led fans online to create a separate Reddit chat thread for trading to avoid the high prices.

McDonald's 'KPop Demon Hunters' meals – what's included?
Beginning March 31, McDonald's began offering two "KPop Demon Hunters"-themed meals, one each featuring Huntr/X, the South Korean pop girl group that battles demons with music, and the Saja Boys, a boy band made up of demons. Each meal comes with a collectible pack including a photocard of art featuring either Huntr/X or the Saja Boys, and a Derpy the Tiger access card with a QR code that unlocks exclusive content via the McDonald's app. That content is "a special reveal of the group that wins the Battle for the Fans," according to a McDonald's news release.
Here's what food items are in the meals:
- The Huntr/X Meal: A 10-piece order of Chicken McNuggets, medium soft drink, and Ramyeon McShaker Fries, which have a soy, garlic, sesame, and spice seasoning inspired by Rumi, Mira, and Zoey's go-to noodle snack. Sprinkle the seasoning into the McShaker bag, toss in the fries, and shake to distribute the seasoning on the fries. The meal also has two sauces – a sweet Hunter Sauce and a tangy Demon Sauce.
- The Saja Boys Breakfast Meal: The Sausage McMuffin with Egg comes topped with a peppery Spicy Saja Sauce. You also get Hash Browns and a small soft drink.

How many McDonald's 'KPop Demon Hunters' cards are there?
The McDonald’s KPop Demon Hunters collaboration has a total of 13 cards. A full set of the cards is going for as much as $250 on eBay.
The card with characters Rumi and Jinu holding hands is considered the “chase card” – a term signifying the rarest or highest value card in a set. That card may be found when you purchase either the Huntr/X Meal or the Saja Boys Breakfast Meal.
It is the only card to denote its rarity with a heart symbol and has been described as “one of the rarest” cards from the joint promotion by McDonald’s senior marketing director Guillaume Huin in a post on X.
What is the rarity of the cards in the 'KPop Demon Hunters' meals?
Here are the other cards you can get in the "KPop Demon Hunters" meals:
In addition to the Rumi and Jinu card, there are five cards obtainable from The Huntr/X Meal (listed with their rarity):
- Rumi holofoil in white outfit (3 Diamonds, Rare)
- Huntr/X (2 Diamonds, Uncommon)
- Rumi (1 Diamond, Common)
- Mira (1 Diamond, Common)
- Zoey (1 Diamond, Common)

In addition to the Rumi and Jinu, there are the seven cards from the Saja Boys Breakfast Meal
- Jinu Demon holofoil (3 Diamonds, Rare)
- Saja Boys (2 Diamonds, Uncommon)
- Jinu (1 Diamond, Common)
- Abby (1 Diamond, Common)
- Baby (1 Diamond, Common)
- Mystery (1 Diamond, Common)
- Romance (1 Diamond, Common)
So far, demand for the cards hasn't led to a situation similar to one the fast-food chain faced in Japan last year when McDonald's canceled a Pokemon collaboration after demand for a special Pikachu card led to long lines at restaurants and abundant food waste as buyers trashed uneaten meals.
