A legendary estate in Dallas tops Texas' most expensive homes, according to Zillow.

The French-style chateau, known as the Crespi Estate, spans nearly 16 acres and is listed at $64 million, featuring 10 bedrooms, a dozen bathrooms, a ballroom, a library imported from France and a 3,000 square foot primary suite. There's also a 4,800-plus-square-foot entertainment pavilion with a 19-seat theatre and a 3,300-plus-square-foot guesthouse.

The grounds also include tennis and bocce ball courts, gardens, greenhouses, a creek and a heliport.

"Since 1938, the prestigious Crespi Estate has hosted presidents, dignitaries and icons like Coco Chanel and the Duke and Duchess of Windsor," the listing on Zillow reads.

he French-style chateau, known as the Crespi Estate, spans nearly 16 acres is listed at $64 million, featuring 10 bedrooms, a dozen bathrooms, a library imported from France and a 3,000 square foot primary suite.

The home was built for wealthy businessman Pio Crespi, who immigrated to the United States in 1904 from Italy. Crespi worked in the cotton exporting business in Savannah, Georgia and lived in New York before moving to Waco, Texas, according to Waco's Magazine.

"In 1910, now fully immersed in the business of brokering vast amounts of Brazos Valley cotton, Pio co-founded the firm of Crespi-Roensch & Company with Max Roensch," the magazine writes.

After a clash with Waco civil leadership over railroads, Crespi moved to Dallas and hired famed Swiss architect Maurice Fatio to erect the home in the 1930's.

While the Crespi Estate is one of the most beautiful — and expensive — in Texas, here are other extraordinary homes that round out the top five most pricey estates in Texas, according to Zillow.
