Little Caesars unveils 'Webberoni Pizza' ahead of new Spider-Man flick

Little Caesars and your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man are teaming up to bring fans a new Spidey-themed item ahead of the July release of the new film "Spider-Man: Brand New Day."

Called the "Webberoni Pizza," the new pie will be topped with a toasted two-cheese blend and shredded pepperoni arranged to resemble a spider's web, and will cost $8.99, according to a news release from Little Caesars.

According to Little Caesars, customers making online orders can also create their own "webbed" pizzas by adding the "web" of shredded pepperoni and toasted cheeses to any other pizza at an additional cost.

"We're thrilled to work with Sony Pictures' Spider-Man: Brand New Day this summer to bring the world's favorite superhero into our stores and homes across the country, creating a unique pizza occasion the entire family can enjoy,” Greg Hamilton, chief marketing officer at Little Caesars, said.

Webbed pizzas and more

"Webbed” pizzas are not the only thing Little Caesars is releasing ahead of the new Spider-Man movie.

According to the pizza chain, Spider-Man-branded packaging and a limited-edition poster will be included with each “Webberoni Pizza” purchase.

Little Caesars said the packaging will roll out starting on June 22, while the release of the limited-edition posters will start on July 6. 

"There will be three limited-edition poster designs that refresh weekly at each participating Little Caesars location, so fans will have a chance to collect them all while supplies last,” the pizza chain said.

Apart from food, Little Caesars said it will host a pop-up at Brooklyn's Greenpoint Terminal Warehouse on June 27 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. ET. The one-day event will give fans a chance to step into a "replica of Peter Parker's apartment that fans can explore, take photos, search for special Spider-Man and Peter Parker details, and enjoy the new Webberoni Pizza."

"Spider-Man is known for its explosive action, humor and fun, and collaborating with Little Caesars, a brand recognized for its bold voice and playful spirit, on Spider-Man: Brand New Day was a natural fit," Jeffrey Godsick, EVP, Brand Strategy & Partnerships, Sony Pictures Entertainment, said in the news release.
