7-Eleven's annual Slurpee Day falls on Saturday, July 11 this year.

The Slurpee turns 60 this year and 7-Eleven is celebrating this year's Slurpee Day with free drinks and a new anniversary flavor.

On Saturday, July 11 – get it? 7/11? – participating 7-Eleven, Speedway and Stripes stores nationwide will give customers free small Slurpee drinks.

Select 7-Eleven and Speedway stores will also host a special "Slurpee Date" experience featuring a photo-op bench, commemorative keepsakes and limited-edition bedazzled "S"-shaped double straws inspired by the brand's diamond anniversary.

7-Eleven is also introducing a new Mountain Dew Confetti Chill Slurpee flavor for a limited time, the convenience store chain said in a news release. The flavor is "inspired by birthday cake" with a citrusy twist, blending citrus flavor with notes of sweet vanilla icing for a "zesty lemon cake treat in frozen drink form."

"Very few brands become part of people's childhoods, everyday routines and memories across generations like Slurpee has over the last 60 years," said Brandon Brown, senior vice president of fresh foods and beverages at 7-Eleven, Inc. in a news release. "As we celebrate this milestone Slurpee Day and create new ways for fans to connect, we want to recognize the customers who have turned a simple icy drink into a beloved cultural icon."
