Dunkin' Donuts tests delivery service

Dunkin' Donuts is the latest chain to begin testing home delivery service so consumers can get their treats delivered straight to their doors.
The coffee and doughnut giant has begun testing "Dunkin’ Delivery" in Dallas and will soon offer the service in Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C, the company announced on Wednesday.
People can order anything on the menu, and the items will be delivered within 45 minutes, according to the company.
Oh, our defenses are wearing thin, Dunkin’ Donuts.
Dunkin’ isn’t the first company to delve into door-to-door service. In September, 7-Eleven and food-delivery service DoorDash teamed up to provide on-demand delivery in select cities. Kentucky Fried Chicken also began offering home delivery services in Los Angeles and San Francisco last Thursday.
The trend is a way to offer “people more convenient ways to enjoy [Dunkin’ Donuts] wide array of food and beverages,” Scott Hudler, Dunkin’ Donuts’ vice president of global consumer engagement," said in a statement.
The move could also be a push towards increasing slow sales and keeping up with increased competition for breakfast consumers from fast-food competitors such as Taco Bell and McDonald's "all day" breakfast.
In October, the company estimated slower sales growth at U.S. Dunkin’ Donuts stores for the third quarter and announced plans to close 100 stores by next year.
The move may be good for Dunkin' Donuts, but will it be good for our waistlines?
