"Daily Show" host Jon Stewart roasted Robert F. Kennedy Jr. during his monologue Monday, saying the Health and Human Services secretary did not protect his wife during the White House Correspondents' Dinner shooting.

Kennedy's wife, actress Cheryl Hines, was uninjured during the chaotic events Saturday at the Washington Hilton hotel in Washington DC and called the shooting a "crazy moment in time."

But Stewart believes Kennedy, who was rushed off by security detail, could have done more for his wife.

Here's what he said.

What did Jon Stewart say about the White House Correspondents' Dinner?

In a scathing attack against several members of the Trump administration, Stewart gave the harshest blows to Kennedy.

“RFK Jr. being whisked away by a Secret Service hive, who apparently couldn’t spare one worker bee for, I don’t know, his wife,” Stewart said. “Do you see right there? There’s a group of men carrying another man out of the room. And then there’s a woman, who appears to be ... desperately reaching out for someone to care, to help her. The woman reaching up in agony and fear, that's RFK Jr.'s wife."

Stewart further criticized Kennedy as he mentioned White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, who was seen shielding his wife while evacuating the hotel.

“You can protect your wife instead of, I don’t know, beating her to the escape pod,” Stewart said. “And the guy who outshined you is Stephen f****** Miller. That's who outshined you. That’s who was more chivalrous.”

Who is Cheryl Hines?

Hines has acted professionally since the 1990s and is most well known for her role as Cheryl David in the HBO series "Curb Your Enthusiasm." She also starred in the ABC sitcom "Suburgatory."

She married Kennedy in 2014.

Although the video Stewart displayed from the correspondents' dinner showed Hines appearing to have been abandoned, Hines said she was helped by members of her husband's security team.

"Nobody knew what was going on, and then, um, you know, Bobby's security detail surrounded us and took us," Hines said in an Instagram video. "I mean, really, like, had to lift me over chairs, because I'm in heels and a gown, and, um, and they took us through all of the back ways, and we got in the car and left."
