Midterm primary season is in full swing in many parts of the country, and while some states are debating their redistricting plans, Georgians are already at the polls.

Early voting in the primaries began last week and will continue until May 15. Election day in Georgia will be held May 19.

From the governor's race to state seats, here is what to know before election day.

Am I registered to vote?

The registration deadline to vote in the midterm primaries in Georgia has passed, but voters can check whether or not they are registered through the Secretary of State's Office.

Using the My Voter Page, residents can check their registration status, their voter registration number, their polling location, past voting records, district maps, their current elected officials and a sample ballot.

If you have not registered to vote in the midterm primary, you can still register to vote for the November general election through the My Voter Page.

When is early voting?

Early voting is currently underway in Georgia, and will continue until Friday, May 15.

Voters can check the hours of operation for their voting location through the My Voter Page website. The location of early voting may not be the same as the voting location on election day.

Who is running for governor?

All voters will get to cast their ballots for the highest seat in the state this election season. Voters will either vote in the Democratic primary, Republican primary, or choose a non-party ballot.

For the Democrats, the polls show former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms as a favorite in the primary. She is competing against Geoff Duncan, Mike Thurmond, Jason Esteves, Olu Brown, Amanda Duffy and Derrick Jackson.

For the Republicans, healthcare CEO Rick Jackson has pulled ahead of Lt. Gov. Burt Jones in the polls. They are joined on the ballot by Chris Carr, Clark Dean, Gregg Kirkpatrick, Brad Raffensperger, Tom Williams and Ken Yasger.

Who is running for U.S. Senate?

The U.S Senate race in Georgia will be closely watched across the country as Republicans try to take on incumbent Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff.

Ossoff is running unopposed in the Democratic primary.

Five Republican hopefuls will be on the ballot, including Buddy Carter, Mike Collins, John Coyne, Derek Dooley and Jonathan McColumn.
