Why fans think MSG makes sense for Taylor Swift's wedding venue
Amethyst MartinezTaylor Swift has been across New York City over the past few weeks as rumors have flurried it may be the venue for her wedding.
Unconfirmed reports have claimed that her wedding to football star Travis Kelce could be taking place this summer, right in Madison Square Garden.
But would that actually make sense for the couple? Here's why the arena may be the perfect place to tie the knot.
Reports on Swift's potential MSG wedding
TMZ first reported that Swift could potentially host the wedding at the Garden on July 3, with over 1,000 guests in attendance. The outlet claimed that to ensure privacy, guests were invited by phone instead of a physical invitation.
Although the idea of having a wedding at the world's most famed arena may seem outlandish at first, many fans were quick to say that it actually could make sense.
"Tayvis wedding at MSG???? that might just be the most taylor swift thing ever," one user wrote on X.
"Taylor having the wedding at MSG makes sense when you consider that most her friends are in NYC and how many people shes trying to invite," another said.
Reason 1: No windows, no photos

Some reports pointed to the fact that the Garden has no normal exterior windows peeking into the main arena.
Typically, that comes in handy for sporting events and concerts. But if there are no windows for Swift's wedding, it would be hard for people to get photos of one of the hottest celebrity events of the summer.
Reason 2: Security

Since the Garden is used to having high-profile people in its stands and on its stages, the venue has private access that avoids the crowded experience most have to deal with when getting around Penn Station.
A lot of the guests would presumably be recognizable faces, meaning that the couple not only has to deal with their own privacy, but everyone else's.
Reason 3: She loves July 4th
Swift used to throw annual Fourth of July parties at her house in Rhode Island, according to past reports, with guests like Selena Gomez and Gigi Hadid.
So, why not get married on the weekend of America's Semiquincentennial?
Reason 4: She was just at MSG for the Knicks game
Swift sent the wedding rumors ablaze Wednesday night where she sat courtside at MSG, cheering on the Knicks in the NBA Finals. After one of the greatest wins in history for the team, Swift was seen celebrating.
Of course, her attendance at the game doesn't mean that she's having her wedding at the Garden.
