'He has no idea how bad he is doing in GA': MTG blasts Trump
Vanessa JohnsFormer U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene criticized President Donald Trump on Sunday after comments he made about Georgia lawmakers during a rally in Perry.
Greene said Trump does not understand how poorly she believes he is doing in Georgia and accused him of threatening the state by saying he could refuse to help lawmakers he does not like.
"He has no idea how bad he is doing in GA," Greene wrote on X. "And to threaten our state that he would refuse to help the good people of Georgia just because he doesn't like who calls him shows how much he really doesn't care."
Greene continued by criticizing Trump's potential impact on Republican candidates.
"Trump has become a curse to Republican candidates and it will be worse in '28," she wrote.
What did Trump say about Georgia lawmakers?
During the Perry rally, Trump discussed his relationships with Republican lawmakers and said there was a difference between people he likes calling him and those he does not.
Trump said some lawmakers can call him when they need help, including with issues involving Georgia farmers.
He then contrasted those lawmakers with people he does not want to hear from Pee-wee Herman, what he calls Georgia Senator Jon Ossoff, while discussing how he might respond to a call.
Trump's comments prompted Greene's response on Sunday.
Greene and Trump have previously been allies
Greene, who represented Georgia's 14th Congressional District until her resignation from Congress in January 2026, has been a prominent Trump supporter but has also publicly criticized him on some issues.
The latest comments mark another public disagreement between the two over Trump's approach to Georgia Republicans and the state's political leadership.
Greene's post specifically referenced Trump's comments about helping or not helping people based on their relationship with him.
The comments come as Georgia Republicans prepare for the 2026 midterm elections and as Republicans look ahead to the 2028 election cycle.
