Sleeping driver wakes, causes accident and flees

The scene became more and more odd.

A driver sleeping in his truck in the middle of the road caused a major traffic jam in Atlanta. Then when he woke up, he crashed into several vehicles trying to flee the scene.

A news crew that happened on the scene shot video of the man slumped over and drooling inside his pickup truck on Saturday afternoon.

A Georgia Highway Emergency Response Operator (HERO) tried to wake him and take his keys, but when the driver woke up the two got into a fight. Video then shows the driver hitting the gas, nearly running over the worker and smashing into two cars, causing a chain reaction five-car accident.

The HERO worker was finally able to get the keys out of the truck. The driver then took off, jumping a barbed wire fence. Police have not yet tracked him down.

No one was seriously injured in the accident.
