LOS ANGELES − Damage assessments are underway across Los Angeles as blazes continue around the city for the sixth day.

The fires have killed at least 16 people and sent over 100,000 people from their homes under evacuation orders with another 87,000 told to be ready, if they haven't already fled. Nearly 40,000 acres of land has burned in the firestorm as of Sunday, according to CalFire.

Los Angeles County published preliminary damage maps for the Eaton and Palisades fires Saturday that allows residents to search and see if a building has been damaged by the fires.

The pages for the maps warn that damage inspections are ongoing and that the maps are incomplete but being updated daily.

There have been at least 1,213 structures destroyed in the Eaton Fire and at least 604 structures destroyed in the Palisades Fire, which stand at 27% containment and 11% containment respectively as of Sunday afternoon, according to CalFire.
