James Robison, televangelist and Life Outreach International founder, dies
Natalie Neysa AlundTelevangelist James Robison, the founder of Life Outreach International, died Sunday, May 17. He was 82.
Fort Worth, Texas-based Life Outreach International confirmed Robison's death in a statement posted on X.
“James devoted his life to sharing the Gospel and bringing hope, help, and healing to those in need around the world," according to the statement from Life Outreach International's board of directors.
"Though we grieve this tremendous loss, we also celebrate a life faithfully lived in service to God and others. In the months and years ahead, we will faithfully carry on the mission James cared about so deeply − bringing food to the hungry, water to the thirsty, and mostly, the hope of Christ to a hurting world."

"In the coming days, we will share additional updates as we move forward together. For now, we ask you to join us in praying for Betty, the Robison family, and the entire Life Outreach ministry family around the world," the statement from his ministry's board of directors said.
USA TODAY has reached out to Life Outreach International for comment.
According to its website, Life Outreach International is a Christian organization that "encourages the support of missions and relief programs in areas of need throughout the world" using broadcast media.
Following Robison's death, U.S. ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee remembered Robison in a post on X, calling him and his wife "huge influences" in his life.
"His death hits hard. He mentored me in so many ways," Huckabee wrote.
Bunni Pounds, president of Christians Engaged, also expressed condolences after Robison's death.
"We pray for Betty, Randy, Rhonda, and the whole team at Life Outreach International, and I know James is reunited with Robin, his daughter and one of my dear friends now dancing in heaven together," Pounds wrote in a post on X.
