Watch Amazon contractor turn pristine lawn to ruin during delivery
Fernando Cervantes Jr.An Amazon contractor in southern Indiana was caught on a doorbell camera taking a creative approach to deliver a package on Sunday, June 21.
In the now-viral video, the driver was shown driving their car over a customer’s freshly cut lawn up to the door, and dropping off the package on the customer’s front porch. Once dropped off, the delivery driver is seen performing a U-turn before driving away, leaving even more damage to the yard.
"We were completely shocked when we first saw the footage. At first, we were frustrated and couldn’t believe what had happened," Homeowner Elisha Magill said. "But after the initial surprise wore off, we found ourselves laughing about it because the situation was so unexpected and bizarre."
Magill told Storyful that the driver bypassed the house's driveway and sidewalk to deliver her package. Magill told the same outlet that they were in contact with Amazon about the incident, with the company offering to repair the damage done to the yard.

Contractor no longer works for the company
In an emailed statement to USA TODAY, Amazon spokesperson Leigh Anne Gullett said the company holds its drivers to "high standards" and said the contractor is no longer delivering packages for the company.
"We hold delivery partners to high standards, and the actions shown in this video are clearly unacceptable. We've connected with the customer to make things right, and the delivery partner is no longer delivering Amazon packages," Gullett said.
